Meta Ads for Coaches: A Step-by-Step Guide to Filling Your Client Pipeline
Most coaches lose money on Meta Ads for the same three reasons. Here is the setup that avoids all of them, from first campaign to first predictable lead flow.
Most coaches lose money on Meta Ads for the same three reasons. Here is the setup that avoids all of them, from first campaign to first predictable lead flow.
Meta Ads are not hard. Meta Ads run badly are expensive, and that is what most coaches experience before quitting.
Here is the sequence that works.
If your landing page converts at two percent, ads will amplify a bad page and drain your budget faster. Before spending anything, make sure the page makes one promise, has one call to action, loads fast on mobile, and asks for the minimum information you need.
For coaches, this is almost always Leads or Conversions — not Traffic, not Engagement, not Reach. Meta optimises for exactly what you ask for. Ask for traffic and you will get cheap clicks from people who will never book. Ask for leads and the algorithm will hunt for people who fill in forms.
The instinct is to stack fifteen interests. Meta''s delivery system is now good enough that a broad audience with an age and geography filter usually beats a narrow interest stack, because it has room to find your buyers.
Your creative does the real targeting. An ad that opens with "If you''re a health coach struggling to get your first clients..." filters the audience harder than any interest checkbox.
Run three to five distinctly different creative angles, not five variations of the same headline. Different angles might be: the problem, the transformation, a client story, a contrarian take, a direct offer. One will typically outperform the others by a wide margin, and it is rarely the one you expected.
Under-funding a campaign is the most common failure. Meta needs roughly fifty conversion events per ad set per week to exit the learning phase and deliver stably. If your budget cannot produce that at your current cost per lead, consolidate into fewer ad sets rather than spreading thin.
Do not judge an ad after two days or twenty clicks. Give it a week and a meaningful sample. Then look at cost per lead first, and cost per booked call second — a cheaper lead that never books is worse than an expensive lead that shows up.
Fix those three and Meta Ads become the most predictable client acquisition channel available to a coach.
